Position Summary:

The University of Dayton's Education Abroad & Away team invites qualified applicants to apply for our Global Advisor & Operations Coordinator opening!

The Global Advisor & Operations Coordinator advises students on all short-term (winter, spring break, and summer) global programs, scholarships, and identity-related questions. The Global Advisor & Operations Coordinator is responsible for all application review for short-term programs, as well as student pre-departure sessions. They also serve as the liaison for short-term programs that are offered by centers and offices outside GIA. The Global Advisor & Operations Coordinator serves as the “super user” for the Terra Dotta (Studio Abroad) software system, including the processing of domestic student group travel, and the review of all individual international travel. They also co-manage the annual Education Abroad Fair. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Education Abroad & Away, within Global and Intercultural Affairs Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and two years related professional experience OR a Master’s Degree and one year of related professional experience. (Professional experience can be in a student work or intern capacity.)
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in the creation, population, and manipulation of spreadsheets (MS Excel and/or Google Sheets).
Superior organizational skills.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Ability to work with and include a diverse student, faculty, and staff community.
Interest in supporting the development of students.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

At least one year experience as an administrator of Terra Dotta (Studio Abroad) or similar database.
Experience studying or living abroad.
Experience advising students.
Participant on and/or managed a short-term program abroad.
Experience working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff community.
At least one year of experience working in Banner or another Student Information System.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Sheets.
Commitment to decolonial and ethical engagement with host communities.
