Job Summary


The Golisano Intellectual and Developmental Disability Initiative (GIDDI) Ambassadors will assist with activities related to increasing involvement, access and acceptance of those with Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) on the FGCU Campus. Assists in development of campus presentations/activities, coordinates interactive events, and assists those with IDD in participation in campus activities.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Greets visitors and provides information
  • Participates in the development of materials and activities to increase inclusion of individuals with IDD
  • Co-facilitates discussions and presentations related to IDD
  • Supports participation of individuals with IDD in campus activities
  • Assists with activities hosted by GIDDI
  • Assists with information gathering and sharing on GIDDI Social Media and Web page

Other Duties:

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of related work or volunteer experience.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with social media and web page development
  • Experience with public speaking and peer-mentoring

  • Effective Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with various populations.
  • Ability to accurately prepare written and electronic documents.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
