Position Summary: 

Incumbents perform basic medical, technical and administrative support services for assigned area. Incumbents process routine endoscopes, non-disposable endoscopic equipment, and may provide standby technical assistance for routine endoscopic procedures. May assist the front office operations by answering incoming phone calls, maintaining records, preparing reports and updating patient files. Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $23.56                   Midpoint   $27.32                   Maximum $31.08

 

Required Qualifications:

Current GI Certification through the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates

Understanding of medical terminology

Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment

Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office or minimum 3 years experience working as a GI/Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.

Current BLS certification

Excellent customer service skills

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese

Phlebotomy certification
