The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a student worker as a Data Entry Assistant in the Ecological Protection Lab. This position reports to the Lab Coordinator and is based around the data related to the rearing, release and recovery of predatory beetles to combat the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). The Ecological Protection Lab is a program of the Environmental Leadership Center, which supports service, research, and teaching activities that promote leadership and stewardship in preserving and enhancing the environment.

  • Working with database managers to transcribe data.
  • Entering data into a database.
  • Creating forms for data collection.
  • Error checking data.
  • Collaboration with different agencies to collect data.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate and work with others.
  • Familiarity with Excel and Database management.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Organized.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
  • Prior experience with database management is a plus but not required.
  • Furthermore, the ability to sit for more than intervals of an hour are encouraged.
