General Surgery - Clinical Associate #SUR084

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery, seeks a Clinical Associate at 100% effort for a renewable one-year term. The successful applicant will provide care for general surgery patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The role will include weekend, weekday and night call coverage. Practice locations include both the main Hyde Park campus and Ingalls Memorial Hospital.  We especially welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds. The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.

The University of Chicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children’s Hospital, Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care, and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service and net patient care revenues over $1.4 billion. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park and the South Loop, and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in General Surgery.
