Job Purpose
Performs Paralegal duties for the Elder Law Clinic and other clinics in the Gonzaga Law School – Clinical Legal Programs. Assists the Elder Law Clinical faculty member and law students in performing a broad range of administrative duties, including grant application and reporting.

  • Performs a wide range of complex paralegal duties requiring independent judgment and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature
  • Perform complex word processing tasks such as complex court pleadings, briefs, letters.
  • Manages correspondence for various clinics
  • Maintains professional and accurate records including confidential reports and information, both in electronic and written format
  • Scheduling of appointments, calendars, meetings, travel and other events, including the procurement of logistical needs
  • Communicates with clients regarding intake and case maintenance

  • College course work in related field
  • Status as registered paralegal
  • Current Notary Public
  • Proficient in creating table of contents and table of authorities
Physical / Environmental Qualifications
  • The position performs work in an office environment and is essentially a sedentary position. Most functions are performed sitting.
  • There may be some amount of time standing, stopping, kneeling, bending, crouching or lifting (maximum of 25 pounds).
  • This job will require wrist and hand movement due to the need for keyboarding.
  • This job will require the ability to move about campus and to drive to the courthouse, clients’ residences, and law firms, using own vehicle.
