Job Summary:


​​The Title IX Director is the designated agent of the University with primary responsibility for coordinating Gonzaga's Title IX (TIX) compliance efforts. This position proactively works on creating and maintaining Gonzaga University as a safe and welcoming environment for all through outreach, policies and training consistent with the Mission of the University.
Reporting to the University's Chief Diversity Officer, the Title IX Director works closely with student affairs, human resources, academic affairs, athletics to coordinate on University's compliance and educational efforts with regards to Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 as amended in 1972, as well as other laws and rules related to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender and interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and related policy violations on campus. The Title IX Director fosters a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to academic pursuits and the healthy personal development of all persons. The Title IX Director develops and implements educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff, and students understand their rights and, where applicable, responsibilities under the law. This role coordinates investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints, and collaborates with campus entities and University leadership to identify and address systemic problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field and five (5) years of employee relations management, training or investigation experience, or Graduate degree in a related field and three (3) years of employee relations management, training or investigation experience.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and stressful situations in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ability to accurately analyze, summarize and apply legal and policy standards to factual situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on sensitive issues, as well as adjust communication style when needed (student, staff and faculty populations).
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience developing and presenting training.
  • Proficiency with computer applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.​
