This is a Federal Work Study position at Boys & Girls Club of Norman @ Center for Children & Families (BGC) in Norman, OK.

This is a part time position that provides youth development services to Club participants at the Boys and Girls Club of Norman.  Responsible for researching, coordinating, planning, supervising and facilitating STEM/Technology programming for Club participants.  This position also includes providing the club with support in facility management and technology assistance. YDP STEM/Technology Specialist will work under the BGCN Program Coordinator, Program Director, and Executive Director, and work closely with CCFI Facility staff.

  • Applicants must be available to work 20-25 hours per week, approximately 4 days/week (class schedule accommodations can be made). Shifts will be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. This is a contract position from August 2021 – May 2022 with opportunity to apply for our summer program or after school program the following year.  Staff must be able to work during some Norman Public School holidays and breaks.
  • Coordinate planning, preparation and facilitate/supervise programming for club members with emphasis in STEM and Technology.
  • Provide support to Club members and members’ families using strengths based approach.
  • Attend all required program staffing and other meetings, workshops and trainings.
  • Complete Incident Reports as needed.
  • Use behavior management skills, structure, and positive leadership to act as a caring adult role model for youth.
  • Work as a team with other staff, and volunteers.
  • Establish inventory for BGCN equipment and supplies (gym equipment, art supplies, furniture, etc.)
  • Establish inventory and “how-to” guides for BGCN technology. 
  • Review and facilitate fire safety  and other facility related policies and procedures in coordination with CCFI Facility staff
  • Maintain stock of light building supplies (i.e. light bulbs, soap, etc.)
  • Follow all CCFI policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Hiring may be contingent upon a background check.

Required Education:  Must be currently enrolled in the current Fall semester as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.


  • Must attach Fall 2021 ONE class schedule.
  • Must have received and accepted a work study award for the Fall semester

  • Youth Development Experience perferred but not required
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred but not required
