Position Summary
The primary purposes of this position are to serve as the primary LCCC contact and to provide management/oversight of the funds of 50 accounts. This position also serves as specialist in fiscal knowledge, such as, payroll, contract/grants, and related accounting services. Technical accounting work includes independent responsibility for maintaining accounting records. This position’s responsibility is to analyze data for accuracy, to problem-solve, and to interpret regulations as well as correcting errors. They are accountable for accuracy of entries and reconciliate of data and information. They coordinate and make recommendations for system changes and test new processes. They are to serve as the primary LCCC contact and to provide management/oversight of the funds of 58 accounts comprised of SPOREs, Program Projects, Individual Grants, Trusts and Residual Funds with a total annual budget of $8.7 million. 
The position plans, integrates and directs broad and complex functions such as financial and personnel management, across various types of accounts. The programs that this position manages requires a high-level of understanding of all other fund types including grant, state, Med Foundation as it requires team interaction in the accounting department. 
As a result, this position must stay well versed on the dynamic nature of the project. The position also operates with independence in working with Principal Investigators and the Center Associate Director of Finance. The position must evaluate the financial activities of the accounts, identifying issues with spending, accounting of expenses and oversight of the fiscal performance of each account. This includes serving as contact person for questions/problems from management as well as faculty. Reconciliation of monthly statements from accounting and generating reports for Directors and Faculty.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to write precisely and clearly.
Proven analytical and reasoning abilities, experience in evaluating complex requirements and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of and skill in applying generally accepted accounting principles. 
Directly related experience with computerized financial reporting and analysis systems.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
University systems knowledge. Financial accounting experience preferred.
