This position may be eligible for Hybrid Work, working remotely for up to two days per week after the initial 90 days of employment.

Hourly Rate: $34.75/hr. or higher, commensurate with experience and/or education 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Functional Analyst III provides technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshoots issues, and maintains enterprise-wide applications used by the university to perform its daily operations.

DUTIES 

  • Analyzes and validates new and current processes
  • Assists functional users with setups, testing, and troubleshooting issues; assists IT staff with troubleshooting issues with faculty, staff, and student accounts; assists DBA and developers with testing processes and approving moving applications to production
  • Provides daily operational support; develops and conducts training
  • Writes scripts to produce ad-hoc reports at the user's request
  • Manage and audit user security on multiple systems
  • Assigns work to subordinates; approves leave requests and timesheets; provides training, coaching, and instruction as necessary
  • Attends meetings regarding the planning and implementation of new application systems; participates in Power BI projects for the development of dashboards and reports
  • Plans and coordinates application upgrades and testing with IT staff, vendors, and key users; works with vendors to resolve issues if any arise
  • Processes requests and payments for maintenance and support renewal for application systems

  • Has primary responsibility for conducting performance evaluations and making recommendations for hiring and dismissing employees

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of the technology development process
  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern applications and trends

Skills:

  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Abilities:

  • Ability to install, setup, and configure utilities and/or tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment, classroom, training room, and auditorium

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a typical, comfortable interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any unpleasant element
  • The individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25lbs may be required
  • Precise hand-eye coordination is required
