Job Description:

Binghamton University seeks applications for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) for the OTD Entry-Level Program. This is a full-time in-person, 12-month, faculty position. The AFWC will perform in-person teaching roles in the Entry-level OTD program; and will work collaboratively with the OTD Program Director and faculty in the Occupational Therapy Division to advance Occupational Therapy's mission. The program has earned ACOTE Candidacy status and launched the inaugural class in Fall 2023. Specific start dates for successful candidates are negotiable and based upon assigned course load.

Job Description:

The successful AFWC candidate will be a creative and collaborative individual who is responsible for the program's compliance with the academic fieldwork requirements of the ACOTE Standards Section C.1.0. The AFWC is responsible for preparing and implementing fieldwork curricula for the OTD: Entry Level Professional Program and will identify and establish partnerships with clinical sites that offer quality clinical learning experiences for students. The AFWC will serve as the primary instructor in the clinical education seminars and be interested in contributing to program development and creating opportunities for students to participate in innovative interprofessional educational experiences.


Requirements:

  • Earned a clinical or post-professional doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (OTD, DrOT, DSc, EdD, ScD) from an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional accrediting body.
  • New York State Occupational Therapy License Eligible.
  • Current NBCOT Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience as a DCC, an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in an Occupational Therapy program, or a clinical educator is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is desired.
