The Architecture Department at the University of Oregon (UO) is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track full professor position with a focus on Design Innovation for Environmental Resilience and Sustainability beginning September 16, 2024, in Eugene, Oregon. The successful candidate will also serve as the Director of the School of Architecture & Environment, which includes the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture, along with the Historic Preservation Program. We seek a scholar who can translate and build connections between the iterative design process and multiple modes of scientific inquiry to better characterize relationships between the design of the built environment and environmental resilience and sustainability for all communities. This colleague will work at the intersection of design and technical determinants of resilience and sustainability to understand the impact that architectural design has on communities. • Professional degree in Architecture.
• Graduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, interior architecture, historic preservation, or another related field.
• Proven record of publication of research, scholarship, and/or creative/professional work focused on innovation for environmental resilience and sustainability. Evidence may include peer-reviewed publications, design awards, citations or published reviews of design work, and grant funding.
• Administrative experience and leadership abilities in academia and/or professional practice.
• Experience in collaborative and cross-disciplinary work in architecture, and in areas that may include engineering, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, interior architecture, or historic preservation.
• Previous university teaching experience in architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to support and enhance diverse learning and working environments.

• PhD in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, interior architecture, or historic preservation.
• Professional architecture registration (license).
