The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami seeks an outstanding candidate to fill a tenure-eligible position at the rank of Professor beginning August 15, 2024.  We particularly invite candidates whose research interests include analysis and partial differential equations arising in fluid and gas dynamics, kinetic theory, plasma physics and astrophysics, and who have a demonstrated record of leadership in this field by virtue of publications, extramural funding, service on editorial boards of leading journals, and invitations to speak at leading conferences and workshops.  A Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field is required, and a strong commitment to pedagogical excellence is expected.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  Applications should be submitted electronically through the University of Miami Human Resources at http://www.hr.miami.edu/careers/index.html .  The application should include a letter of interest and a current CV, assembled as a single PDF file.  Additionally, the candidate should arrange for at least three letters of reference from leading mathematical scholars that attest to the candidate’s standing as a leading researcher and scholar to be sent directly to [email protected] .   Further, at least one letter must address the candidate’s accomplishments in and commitment to teaching.  This may be in a separate letter on teaching or be included in one of the letters addressing research accomplishments and leadership.  For further information, please contact
