Job Description:


The instructor will:
  • Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum.
  • Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
  • Promote and recruit for program within and outside of the College.
  • Promote diversity and cultural competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered respiratory therapist
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field within the last five years. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) post-secondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Current Minnesota RRT License (Minnesota Board of Medical Practice) and current CPR certification for the Healthcare Professional

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered as a therapist by National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Two (2) years' experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people as a team member.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
