Job Description:

The Office of Capital Planning and Maintenance is seeking federal aid recipients for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this specific role. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities of the position.

Capital Planning & Maintenance Federal Work Study Student Workers will assist the Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Manager as well as Work Order System and Office Manager with a variety of items on a weekly basis.

  • General monthly fire safety inspections of (exit signs, fire extinguishers, etc.)
  • Assistance with building and elevator inspections to ensure correct certificates are in place.
  • Assistance with vehicle inspection and data records
  • Perform other inspections on campus in a weekly or monthly routine
  • Assist with other data/report keeping as needed for the department
  • Could assist Events Staff with general setup
  • Other responsibilities as provided by Associate Vice President, Director of Operations & Maintenance and other CPM Managers.

  • Must be a full time undergraduate student of Fitchburg State University
  • Must have Federal Workstudy finding as part of the Financial Aid package
  • Ability to work with in a team environment and individually
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation


    • Additional Information:

    This is a full time undergraduate student only position. Students will not work more than 20 hours per week at $15 per hour.
