Job Title: Foundations Of Lifelong Learning Adjunct Faculty

Unit: National & Global

Department: Division of Liberal Arts

Campus Location: Online/Remote

Summary of Position: Adjunct faculty for the SILD/ Division of Liberal Arts will be responsible to teach online adult students (in both synchronous and asynchronous modalities) the curriculum established by the administrative faculty. This course is a critically important step as students begin their journey toward a degree. Instructors will be selected for this task based on their teaching skill set and intended support and engagement with Indiana Wesleyan National & Global students.


Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Preferred: Ed.D. or other doctorate with a minimum of 18 graduate, semester hours related to the discipline stated in the title of posting: Foundations of Lifelong Learning.
  • Required: A master’s degree with minimum of 18 graduate, semester hours related to the discipline stated in the title of posting: Foundations of Lifelong Learning.

Experience

  • Required:
    • Work Experience: Utilizes skills, experience, and training to promote individual success; models learning techniques that are particularly helpful for adult learners.
    • Higher Education Experience: Teaching undergraduate liberal arts courses, particularly related to academic success, is a plus.
  • Preferred:
    • Work Experience: Utilizes skills, experience, and training to promote individual success; models learning techniques that are particularly helpful for adult learners.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools.
  • Demonstrated teaching abilities, with a focus on undergraduate readiness.
  • Demonstrated higher education experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lifelong learners
  • Possess a strong Christian commitment with willingness to adhere to the IWU Community Lifestyle statement
  • Other: Knowledge/experience with scholarly writing and education-related AI
