Foundation President - Corporate Administration - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer, and the Board of Directors of the Foundation, the Foundation President administers all aspects of the fundraising programs of USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation, including annual giving, major gifts, principal gifts, grant writing, special events, planned giving, data management, donor communication and capital campaigns. Continues to build upon the success of major events and donor engagement events including Crystal Ball, Spring Food Fest, Golf Tournament, Rose Society Luncheon, Chairman's Dinner, and Thanksgiving Brunch. The Foundation President will also build trust, rapport, and credibility with all constituents throughout the organization including staff, leadership, and physicians as well as donors and the community at large.

Essential Duties:

  • Administers all aspects of the fund-raising programs of USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation, including annual giving, major gifts, principal gifts, grant writing, special events, planned giving, data management, donor communication and capital campaigns.
  • Coaches staff to manage the financial results of the Foundation and functions within organization targets.
  • Consults with and advises the President & CEO of the Hospital on issues related to the operation of the Foundation. Recommends changes in policies to carry out objectives of areas of responsibility more effectively. Assists the President in the short and long-range planning function.
  • Evaluates the performance of assigned staff to provide for professional development and to maximize contributions toward established goals. Provides effective problem resolution within established guidelines.
  • Plans, recommends, initiates, conducts, and directs all programs necessary to meet revenue targets.
  • Guides assigned department/areas in complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Leads the development of the Foundation. Implements and communicates the Foundation’s Strategic Plan.
  • Leads the efficient, effective, and quality performance of the Foundation to support hospital wide objectives. In conjunction with department Directors, provides for the identification, analysis, development and recommendation of operating policies, systems, programs, and standards, and as approved, documentation, implementation, and compliance.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of latest trends in fund development.
  • Participates in Foundation and Hospital Board Meetings and Medical Staff committee meetings as required. Attends and serves on professional/civic service organizations as Hospital and Foundation representative, as directed. Meets with members of the community as required to promote good community relations.
  • Leads efforts to find qualified community members to serve on the Foundation Board and performs other related duties as required/directed.
  • Provides and maintains effective communications with the Hospital and Foundation Boards, Medical Staff, and all levels of supervision and staff to further develop a culture of philanthropy within the organization.
  • Regularly solicit feedback regarding performance, needs and improvements.
  • Provides direct communication and participation in USC Arcadia Hospital’s Executive Team.
  • Responsible for generating and in cooperation with the Foundation Board, managing the philanthropic funds for USC Arcadia Hospital.
  • Responsible for the effective leadership of the Foundation as evidenced by integrating the Foundation into the Hospital’s primary functions, developing, monitoring, and communicating the Foundation’s annual budget.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services; recommending a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide service; continuously assessing and improving the performance of services provided; maintaining quality control programs as appropriate; developing programs for orienting and providing in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department; recommending space and other resources needed by the department; participating in the selection of sources needed services not provided by the department or the organization; determining the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide services
  • Supervises and effectively interfaces with support groups such as Asian Health Outreach Committee, Latino Outreach Committee, Women Investing in Nurses, and the United Women of Faith.
  • Supports and leads the implementation of the policies established by the USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 7-10 years 7-10 years of active fundraising experience with growing responsibility and senior leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Leadership and communication skills, including the ability to communicate a compelling case for support to individual, corporate and Foundation donors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Capital campaign experience
  • Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP) certification
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $220,064.00 - $363,105.00.
