Job Overview

The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting for a Forensic Psychologist (clinical track) for our growing and competitive department, at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The final rank and title of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.  Experience and interest in forensic psychology is necessary. Applicants should have experience completing civil or criminal forensic evaluations and in providing court testimony related to such cases. Applicants should also have experience in administering psychological testing pertinent to forensic evaluations. 

 

The Department is dedicated to high quality medical student and resident education, excellence in patient care and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. Our Department supports clinical care and career development in multiple disciplines, including general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and neuromodulation including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities may include:

  • Direct patient care.
  • Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Research at various University of Cincinnati Health facilities, hospitals and other local health care systems.
  • The ideal applicant would assume a leadership role in the forensic psychiatry training program and in the operation of our forensic division.
  • Additional opportunities for career development include participation in quality improvement and a monthly forensic psychiatry journal club, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must have obtained a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • For positions within Performing and Studio Arts or Nursing, an appropriate Master’s degree may replace the Doctoral requirement. 

Required Education

Psy.D. or Ph.D.


Required Trainings/Certifications

Ohio Psychology License.
