HARBORVIEW'S NUTRITION SERVICES Department has an outstanding opportunity for a PART TIME, 50%, EVENING SHIFT, FOOD SERVICE WORKER position. The individual in this role will perform a variety of duties including preparing and serving food, maintaining sanitary conditions of kitchen facilities, and serving food on cafeteria line.

The Food Service Worker is part the multi-disciplinary team to provide food, service, and nutritional care to Harborview’s patients. Under direct supervision, they perform a variety of duties including preparation of food and beverages, delivery of meal trays to Ambassadors, par stock pantries, and routine cleanup and sanitation duties within the food service operation.  

Overview of Work Assignments:
•     Washes, peels, cuts up vegetables and fruits; opens canned goods
•     Makes beverages
•     Assembles salads, sandwiches, and desserts
•     Transports food, supplies, and equipment to and from kitchen, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators
•     Serves food individually or from steam tables and carts; loads and clears steam tables and carts
•     Washes dishes, trays, pots, pans, and utensils
•     Scrubs, mops, and clean kitchen, refrigeration, garbage areas and floors
•     Cleans and sanitizes equipment and other surfaces
•     Fills condiment containers
•     Stocks work areas, including nursing unit pantries, practices First In First Out (FIFO) methods to minimize waste
•     Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment (e.g. coffee maker, toaster, dish and glass washers, mixers, dish machine)
•     Follows department policies and procedures for food safety and sanitation
•     Complies with infection control policy and hand washing procedures
•     Performs other work as required 

Minimum Requirement:
Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit.
