Overview:  

We are seeking a Fleet System Administrator who will focus on user experience of fleet software, analyzing data and resolving issues. This position resides in the Fleet and Transportation group in the Logistical Service Division, Facilities & Operations Directorate, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  

 

As part of our team, you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of our Vehicle Pooling Program. The selected candidate will be at the forefront of ensuring seamless user experiences, addressing technical challenges, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our fleet management software.

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for user questions and concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Provide comprehensive assistance to users in navigating and utilizing Agile Fleet Commander Software.

  • Conduct user training sessions to enhance software proficiency and promote a user-friendly experience.

  • Work closely with end-users to understand their needs and challenges, seeking opportunities to maximize the benefits of the fleet management software.

  • Promptly identify and address technical issues and software glitches to minimize disruptions to the Vehicle Pooling Program.

  • Perform daily pooled fleet diagnostic and software utilization, proposing recommendations for optimization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A BS in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related discipline

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role, with a focus on fleet management software.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a track record of efficiently resolving technical issues.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
