Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Administrative Manager, the Fiscal Specialist 1 position provides a variety of complex fiscal support to the Biological Systems Engineering department, including but not limited to: analysis, developing, planning, interpreting and review of operational tasks involving purchasing support functions for the Department of Biological Systems Engineering (BSE).
 

The Fiscal Special 1 works independently and under general supervision to provide fiscal support for the Biological Systems Engineering department by assisting in the interpretation and application of a variety of rules and procedures in specialized fiscal functions, such as travel, purchasing, account reconciliation, payroll and time accounting, and expenditure control. The incumbent will perform the following duties: coordinate and analyze purchasing activities for BSE ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures; working with BSE employees and processing their purchasing requests; reconcile and review all P-Card transactions; oversee the Com Data card program for the department.
Required Qualifications:

  • Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and proficiency with, financial, or administrative information systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word) and Workday.

  • Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures.

  • Experience in higher education, local or state agency, or equivalent.

Monthly Salary:

Salary Range 40, $3,376.00 - $4,497.00 (Steps A - M)

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
