Position Details:

SDC is offering a $5,000 hiring incentive to be paid to the employee after 6 months of employment.

Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision of the Administrative Manager, the Fiscal Specialist 1 will provide fiscal support to faculty, staff, and students of the department. Areas of support will be for all fiscal related duties and include, but are not limited to Purchasing, Cards, Payroll, Personnel, Travel, Budget reconciliation, Budget forecasting, and Service Center billings. In a team environment, this position will also provide assistance or advice regarding WSU and the department’s policies and procedures to internal and external areas. This position requires a high level of professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.


Required Qualifications:

Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and navigating Internet Explorer or other Web Browsers.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal/organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience with problem solving and multi-tasking.

  • Understanding of customer service, prioritizing service and support oriented relationships.

  • Experience working with the Public or in a Customer Service setting.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, co-workers and constituents.

Monthly Salary:

Range 40, $3,246.00 - $4,216.00 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
