|Summary of Duties||
The Fiscal Officer works in the College of Engineering (CoE) under the direction of the Business Manager for Engineering Administration, Engineering Technology Services (ETS), the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering (CEGE) and the Department of Engineering Education (EED), and is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of financial, payroll, and human resources processing as directed by the college internal control structure, which includes ensuring segregation of duties in the processing of every financial transaction, appropriate mandatory approvals, and reconciliation; works with Business Manager to review and monitor all college funds and expenditures and to prepare financial reports to aid management with strategic decision making; conveys and manages highly sensitive information while maintaining the utmost confidentiality; ensures sound financial management; prepares, analyzes, interprets, and presents data for special projects and ad hoc reporting; initiates budget and fund transfers; ensures adherence to all University and College policies and all supporting documentation and audit trail information conforms to university guidelines; collaborates with the College Business Operations Center (BOC) to ensure efficient processing of payroll and procurement transactions; provides a high level of customer service to faculty, staff, and students, to ensure requests are completed timely, efficiently, accurately and are in compliance; serves as a resource to faculty and staff, department chairs, and directors regarding financial policies and procedures; works on special projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience; three years of financial management experience; knowledge of accounting principles and applications; progressively responsible financial and administrative experience.
Excellent communication, customer service and problem resolution skills; experience with university financial, procurement, and payroll policy and systems; experience in budget control and fund accounting; demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-critical priorities and projects with minimal supervision; demonstrated experience contributing to and enhancing diversity and inclusion in a professional environment.
