Financial Systems Analyst Sr - Contractor Role

The duration of this contract position will be until September 2025.  During the this time period you may have the opporutnity to be hired as a permanet employee.

Purpose

MCW is implementing the Workday ecosystem. This role will participate in the implementation efforts of the new Workday system for Finance and Payroll. 

Primary Functions

Assist with conversion of Oracle to Workday Application, which may consist of: 

  • Collaborate with the Software Implementation consultants, and MCW subject matter experts to support the Workday implementation project.
  • Follow Workday best practices for MCW business processes and analyze identified issues and process gaps.
  • Configure and customize the Workday system to align with MCW’s specific business requirements, workflows, and processes. Participate in report and dashboard design and build.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop test plans associated with assigned business processes and execute System Implementation and User Acceptance testing of the Workday tools to ensure requirements are met.
  • Participate in Change Management activities (Prosci Method) to educate and train end-users on Workday processes and features.
  • Attend and actively participate in Business Process Automation/Improvement meetings. Analyze and assess options for process improvements.
  • Coordinate and complete project tasks as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, system configurations, and standard operating procedures for Workday.
  • Verify conversion data. Research open data conversion issues associated with the Workday implementation.
  • Coordinate and complete other project tasks as assigned.
  • Knowledge – Skills – Abilities 

    Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, automated accounting software, report writing tools and business intelligence software is required. 

    Strong critical thinking, problem solving, analytic, and diagnostic skills. Experience working independently to analyze available information, draw conclusions and understandings, and present such conclusions effectively to management. 

    Strong process automation and process enhancement experience. Ability to identify areas with opportunity for change and the ability to maintain a consistent focus on process efficiencies. 

    Advanced verbal and written communication skills. High standards of productivity and accuracy and an excellent service attitude. 

    Ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative, exercise judgment and operate in an environment with multiple, competing and frequently changing priorities. 

    Basic to intermediate level project management, business analysis, and lean six sigma skills. 

    Desire to learn and apply new technical skills that support improved processes. 

    Experience with Workday in a Higher Education or Healthcare environment preferred.

    Preferred Schedule:
    Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    Position Requirements:

    Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

    Minimum Required Education:         Bachelor’s degree

    Minimum Required Experience:          8 years

    Preferred Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an Information Systems and/or Accounting Emphasis or equivalent work experience.

    Preferred Experience:  5 - 8 years of experience in a complex financial systems environment with exposure to automated financial accounting and database management software through providing support to functional users or a systems implementation.  Functional user support experience would include training, error resolution, and knowledge of accounting cycles and chart of accounts.  Systems implementation experience would include financial system configuration and testing. Experience with Workday in a higher education or healthcare environment preferred.
