Financial Services Manager
Institutional Planning/Budget
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary

The Financial Services Manager is the primary budget and planning resource for assigned Tulane University units and is responsible for managing all aspects of budgeting, including budget development, implementation, forecasting and modeling.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of tools and technology used in research, analysis and statistical design, management information systems, and strategic planning

  • Strong working knowledge of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software (databases, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, statistics, etc.) used for data analysis and presentation

  • Extensive skills in desktop computing support including operating system and application installation and maintenance

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), database software)

  • Ability to communicate (oral and written) complex issues to diverse campus and external constituents

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize work assignments

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty and administrators

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Five years' directly related experience to include financial management and institutional planning, research, analysis, and interpretation, report writing, and presentation

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

  • Five years' directly related experience in higher education

Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 28.
