FINANCIAL OFFICER, Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM), to manage and coordinate DCM’s business and financial functions. Will provide leadership/direction for DCM’s financial operations, including financial planning, budget analysis, operational and financial performance metrics, and business and strategic plans; develop and maintain current and long-range financial plans to reflect the division’s strategic goals and mission; administer complex pre- and post-award financial activities related to the daily operation for the division; and resolve complex financial issues and advise on matters pertaining to financial management.  


Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree; five years’ experience in accounting or finance; strong communication, analysis, quantitative, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to conduct complex financial analyses and projections for a service center, learn changing technologies related to grants and contracts management; knowledge of federal guidelines; diplomacy and good judgment with confidential information/issues; and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people. PREFERRED:  MBA or similar degree conferring expertise in accounting or finance; experience with MIT’s financial, accounting, and sponsored research systems; and familiarity with the business aspects of an animal resource program.  Job #21193-9
