JOB LOCATION

Central Carolina Foot & Ankle - Durham, NC 

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Financial Care Counselor to assist in coordination of clinic service activities of two new Orthopaedic clinics to achieve continuous and optimal patient care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PSA/FCC functionality: Registration, arrive/check out visits, schedule follow up appointments. Oversee front desk personnel and provide assistance with aforementioned functions.
  • Monitor registration, charge review, claim edit work queues and ensure they are cleared daily.
  • Train new staff and educate current staff on new policies and procedures related to insurance/payer change.
  • Charge and reconcile professional charges daily.
  • Assist HCA/SAM with customer service and billing request.
  • Review the daily appointment report for visit level authorizations, obtain as necessary.
  • Cash management: Close clinic batch and prepare deposit daily. Submit batch corrections as necessary. Perform Monthly Cash Audit.
  • Attend Monthly FCC/PSA registration meetings and dispense information timely regarding updates or changes.
  • Serve as a resource point for questions regarding patient accounts, registration, insurance or billing questions.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally required through a high school education, with some postsecondary education preferred. Additional training or working knowledge of related business.
  • Two years experience working in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections. Or, an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience working with the public. Or, a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
