GENERAL REQUISITION INFORMATION
Vaccination Requirement | The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer). As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC, you will be/are required to comply with the UNMC’s vaccination protocol. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5) days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated. |

Position Summary | Provides support, assessment and coordination of accounting and administrative functions for the Department of Pathology & Microbiology. Assists Financial Coordinator, Administrative Director, and senior management with the administration of a portfolio of the department’s financial operations comprised of complex accounting and billing work, including Regional Pathology Services (RPS), Nebraska Public Health Laboratories (NPHL), departmental core facilities, and individual principal investigators (PIs). Contributes to efficient office operations in the department and serves a trusted liaison with internal departments and external entities. |

This includes willingness to develop in expertise in both elaborate Access Database and Excel skills, and “mining” and exporting data from warehouse environments and maintaining new databases. 2. Experience with accounting and budget systems. 3. Analytical skills with an aptitude towards process improvements in all work areas. 4. Willingness and ability to learn to present technical information to UNMC staff using formal presentations. Training/coaching available to enhance presentation skills. 5. The ability to interpret grant awards and contract to apply strict adherence with regard to types of expenses charged to the grant/contract. 6. Knowledge of the policies and procedures of UNMC, the College of Medicine, University of Nebraska and/or similar institution. |
