Job Summary

Compliance related role for the DCE Finance Operations.


Position Description

The Financial Associate reporting to the Manager of Financial and Payroll Operations will serve as the principal source of financial information for faculty and staff regarding Travel & Reimbursement, PCard (Purchasing Card), Accounts Payable and the Corporate Card. This person will also be integral in ensuring compliance (Internal Guideline as well as External rules and regulations) with the CONCUR system. The incumbent also will be responsible for processing requisitions/POs in B2P (Buy 2 Pay), obtaining relevant information from new vendors and setting them up in the Accounts Payable Vendor Database, processing reimbursements via Concur, corporate card as well as PCard payments for a large staff, including Study Abroad faculty and Teaching Assistants. Additional responsibilities include processing wire transfers and foreign drafts, Short Term Operating Advances, the DB (Declining Balance) Card Programs and reconciling the Monthly Committed Funds Report. Also responsible for maintaining records for PCards and documentation related to payments. Ensure all property rental invoices are executed, monitoring leases for scheduled rent increases. 

Identify Monthly Paid Vendors to ensure payment is made and if an accrual is needed. The Associate will look for opportunities to improve financial systems and communication with staff and provide additional support to the financial team as needed. The Associate will be a backup for Payroll Operations for times of increased workflow.


Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience 
  • A minimum of three years experience in financial services or related experience 

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel 
  • Computer competency requiring spreadsheets and database software are required

Working Conditions

This position will be based in Cambridge, MA. DCE is currently trialing hybrid workplace models with a minimum of 2 days per week on campus. DCE may adjust these as necessary or appropriate.
