Department Description

Assists with the day-to-day management of campus-wide Oracle support and reporting. The operations of the Oracle Support unit support the entire UC Davis community including the UC Davis Health System in Sacramento, research centers at Bodega Bay and Tulare, the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) field stations located throughout California and the Washington D.C. Center.



Job Summary

Reporting to the Oracle Support Unit Supervisor, the Data Management Support and Processing Analyst performs a key role in Oracle Support, serving the UC Davis community and its various stakeholders. This position holds responsibility for providing master data and CCoA support and processing financial transactions. Responsible for the day-to-day management of campus-wide Oracle PPM and Subledger support and reporting, including the Medical Center and Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Monitors efficiency of the PPM & Subledger and reviews and implements policy and business process improvements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Three years of finance experience.
  • Experience with fund accounting and generally accepted accounting principles and techniques.
  • Experience using Excel, reporting tools and/or equivalent applications to develop complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience working with large complex data sets, providing analyses, and developing concise summarizations.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to independently research develop and recommend solutions to complex financial problems and issues. Analytical skills to read, analyze, and interpret technical and financial reports to facilitate decision-making.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and the skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:   

  • Experience using a General Leger system, preferably Oracle or similar ERP system.
  • Experience intercompany(department) or intercampus billing.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Knowledge of UC policies and procedures.
  • Organizational and project management skills to achieve timely progress on multiple, simultaneous projects to meet competing deadlines, while shifting priorities as urgency dictates.
