Salary:

$6,251.00 - $7,500.00 per month commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for cash and investment accounting functions of The Texas A&M University System and financial analysis. This position is also responsible for assisting with the coordination, preparation and review of The Texas A&M University System combined Annual Financial Report (AFR), including coordination of the AFR workshop and materials for A&M System members; and preparation of management and regulatory reports. 


Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing the daily posting of cash transactions within the System Cash Concentration Pool for all Texas A&M University System members.

- Distribute investment income and expenses to the participants of the System Cash Concentration Pool and System Endowment Fund.

- Provide periodic updates of separately held investments. Distribute quarterly System Endowment Fund reports prepared by the System Investment Custodian.

- Prepare and distribute various management reports related to investments. Communicate with the Office of Treasury Services, the System Investment Custodian and the System members to ensure conformance with accounting standards.
- Review the quarterly Gifts, Donations, Grants and Endowments Report, including routing preliminary acceptance forms and interpreting A&M System policies and related regulations.
- Prepare a cash flow analysis as part of the monthly reconciliation of investments process, and prepare the annual Statement of Cash Flows investment section for the A&M System Combined Annual Financial Report (AFR).
- Assist with the preparation of the A&M System Combined AFR. Assist with the review of the AFR of each A&M System member. Work with the financial reporting team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and to resolve issues during the AFR process. Assist in the coordination and presentation of the AFR workshop.
- Accounting Policies and Procedures Committee: Identify issues, and research and prepare white paper reports.

- Provide the System Office of Budgets and Accounting and the A&M System with input on accounting system task forces/projects.

- Review and analyze potential legislation dealing with financial issues.
- Facilitate the development of consistent reporting practices in areas of accounting and compliance for the A&M System.

- Assist with the implementation of GASS, FASS, NACUBO, federal and state accounting directives.
- Attend and participate in meetings, conferences and training sessions with management and staff members.

- Work with and assist other team members by sharing information, presenting ideas and concerns, and asking questions.
-  Assist with preparation of System Office annual financial report, including cash and investment allocations.
- Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years in an accounting related field.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving abilities.

- Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Ability to analyze and summarize financial information.

- Ability to handle confidential and/or time sensitive matters.

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
