POSITION SUMMARY:

TheFinancial Analyst IIfor the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) is afull-timeemployment position reporting to theManager of Financial Planning and Analysis. The person in this role will assume responsibility for managing the quarterly and annual expense forecasting process for assigned departments. Financial Analyst II will also perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses and ad-hoc reporting in support of these areas. Working with the business leaders, the Financial Analyst II will assist with modeling the financial impact of strategic initiatives under evaluation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide direct budget support for the Financial Services, HR, and Legal departments

Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly variance reporting and analysis for the respective support areas

Coordinate with Procurement for PO approvals for areas of support

Research P&L and provide journal entries to accounting for month-end support

Manage headcount reporting and reconciliation process, including the ratio-based labor for Financial Services group

Provide financial support for Legal Fees analysis and monitoring of spend

Support Compensation Director with the analysis and forecast of University-wide benefits cost

Identify forecast issues and work with business owners toward resolution

Provide regular and ad-hoc support to assigned department leaders in all financial matters

Train in Hyperion operations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance or accounting

3+ years of experience in FP&A or Accounting related position.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Demonstrated professionalism and attention to accuracy.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Advanced Excel skills are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree or CPA preferred.

Knowledge of financial planning & reporting processes.

Previous experience with Hyperion Planning and Great Plains a plus.

Excellent financial modeling skills.
