Performs budgetary transactions for central Student Life and Development areas, such as Campus Life. Applies federal, state and/or University guidelines, policies, and procedures in compiling, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on financial operations such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.

  • Performs budgetary transactions for central Student Life and Development areas such as Campus Life, including the generation of Smart Bills, ID transfers, POs, and Unencumbered payment requests.
  • Supports the department's financial transactions utilizing established financial software (PantherSoft Financials and PantherConnect).
  • Reconciles all P-card transactions and other purchases and expenditures for the department and assists with the reconciliation of student organizations as advised by departmental staff.
  • Makes purchases on behalf of the department using the University procurement card transactions.
  • Maintains the department's cash collection point, reconciles cash collected, makes and records deposits, and trains/supervises cash handlers.
  • Prepares Professional Services Agreement Contracts as outlined in Purchase Request. Verifies with Director that contracts are correct and then processes prepared contracts through the Total Contract Management (TCM) system, and then collaborates with the Purchasing Department and Controller's office for processing and release of checks.
  • Analyzes and reports on budgetary performance, including preparation of quarterly budget variances reports and assists in the development of the annual operating budget for the department, agencies and bureaus.
  • Interprets fiscal and accounting administrative rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage the fiscal and accounting administration of the department.
  • Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Assures compliance and adherence to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the Procard Approver for departmental transactions. Assures compliance and adherence to university credit card policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the merchant account's primary contact or technical contact; Handles sensitive cardholder information and/or processes credit cards transactions for the department/unit; Will have access to a third-party system (software, gateway, etc.) that processes, transmits, and/or stores cardholder information.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial reports and/or budget development and forecasting.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft.
