Job Description:

The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFA) is actively seeking a detail-oriented individual to join the Scholarship team as a Manager. In this role, you would be responsible for coordinating and administering scholarship processes, which includes overseeing scholarships awarded by SFA, various departments, and colleges across the campus. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, leadership abilities, and effective communication skills. 

Key responsibilities include:

Scholarship Universe Management

  • Oversee the initial setup and annual maintenance of scholarships within Scholarship Universe.
  • Review backup documentation and track expenditures.
  • Assist campus scholarship managers with reconciliation of accounts and funds transfers to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Train and support scholarship administrators in utilizing Scholarship Universe functionality.
  • Assist department staff with technical and functional scholarship inquiries via phone, email, Zoom, and Teams.
  • Provide reference materials, conduct presentations, and collaborate with stakeholders for accurate and timely completion of scholarship processes.

Scholarship Administration

  • Manage the administration of all SFA Foundation Scholarships.
  • Determine eligibility, select recipients, oversee awarding and funds management.
  • Handle scholarship documentation and mandatory reporting to the UF Foundation and other entities.
  • Assist supervisor with scholarship reconciliation processes in accordance with university policy.

Financial Aid Support

  • Participate in the planning and administration of Financial Aid activities for the area.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve complex issues related to student financial aid.
  • Advise faculty, staff, and administrators regarding university policies and procedures related to financial aid.
  • Occasionally travel for Enrollment Management events, financial aid presentations, and professional development workshops and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Student financial aid counseling experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, attention to detail, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing financial aid programs
  • Ability to exercise responsible professional judgment in evaluating unique circumstances
  • Ability to speak comfortably before large groups
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency
