The Enrollment and Financial Aid Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the essential analytics to optimize financial aid processes in processing federal and state financial aid and supporting Enrollment Management.  The Analyst will report to the Office of Student Financial Assistance and Scholarships and collaborate closely with the Division of Enrollment Management.

Responsibilities:

Financial Aid Analysis and Optimization

  • Analyze financial aid data to assess its effectiveness, efficiency, and equity in award distribution using Banner and Automic.

  • Research, test, and implement new and modified financial aid functionality in Banner.

  • Collaborate with the financial aid team to optimize aid packaging strategies.

  • Identify trends and patterns in financial aid allocation and recommend adjustments when necessary.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Assist Director of Financial Aid and Assistant Director of Financial Aid Operations with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Work closely with campus partners outside of EM. Examples include the Office of Institutional Research, Office of Technology Services, and Administration and Finance. 

  • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making related financial aid and enrollment.

Data Analysis

  • Develop and maintain admissions and financial aid dashboards and reports for senior leadership.

  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and compliance requirements related to financial aid.

Compliance Reporting and Data Collections

  • Prepare mandated state and federal financial aid and admissions data collections. Examples include: IPEDS Student Financial Aid Collection

  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of financial aid data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

  • Write reports needed to ensure financial aid processes and actions meet compliance measures.

  • Establish and monitor scheduled processes, including but not limited to Download process, Packaging and Repackaging.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorâ™s Degree.

  • Three (3) years of related experience in student financial aid, or higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools such as Tableau, Cognos, Argos, or similar software.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.

  • Familiarity with financial aid processes and regulations.

  • Experience in Banner.

  • Understanding of strategic enrollment management.

  • Must have superior communication and time-management skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Must be able to prioritize work assignments to complete work within required time periods.
