Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a Financial Administrator 1 (FA1) Financial Administrator 2 (FA2) position to handle various financial and administrative duties for the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and Department of Biomedical Engineering. With limited guidance, oversee the planning and supervision of the fiscal administrative activities of a unit.

 

Major duties may include administrative, fiscal, and grant activities such as financial tracking/monitoring of Grants, Faculty Startup, UGA Support, RIA, Internal University awards and other funds/accounts as needed; involved in HR and Payroll processes related to grants - i.e. Extra Compensation payments to faculty; purchasing approvals in both CONCUR and PACE systems.


This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work option for applicants with a residence within the Cincinnati Tri-State Area. Hybrid remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.


Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and monitor administrative duties.
  • Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports.
  • May coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit at less than 25% of duties.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting or related field.
  • For FA1 - Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
  • For FA2 - Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
  • FA1 requires related finance or accounting experience.
  • FA2 requires two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and to multitask.
  • Incumbent should possess solid customer service skills with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in budget management and grant management is ideal.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
