Job Overview

The position of Financial Administrator I will be a professional employee engaged in the day-to-day administration of financial, human resource, and reporting transactions within the College Business Office. Duties are of minimal to moderate complexity and require problem solving and clear communication. This position will provide recommendation and guidance to other staff and faculty on process related topics in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations. This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work option for applicants with a residence within the Cincinnati Tri-State Area. Hybrid remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.


Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative duties
  • Assist in the development and adherence of unit policies and procedures 
  • Maintain account balances and prepare basic financial transactions and reports
  • Perform internal auditing of financial records and funds
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain journal entries, accounts payable ledgers, etc. for the college
  • Provide basic financial analysis (e.g. breakeven, cost comparison) and make recommendations to the school director or academic program coordinators regarding the use of funds
  • Reviewing all financial expenditures to ensure compliance with applicable university financial policies and prevent deficit fund balances in all accounts
  • Assist faculty with purchase, reimbursements, and travel arrangements
  • Ensure that P-Card charges are appropriately allocated
  • Prepare and manage contract and bid process
  • Assist with hiring of students, graduate assistants, adjunct faculty, etc. in assigned department(s)
  • Perform timekeeping duties for hourly-paid staff
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related field.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Related finance or accounting experience.
