The Financial Accountant III, under direction, is responsible for performing complex professional accounting tasks for the Operations Finance team to provide support to VP of Facilities, Health, Safety and Security. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of accounting experience in a business office.

 

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Oral and written communication skills with customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally moves light weight objects.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business-related field.
  • Working knowledge of Canopy and Concur.
  • Experience in account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting and Business Services - Performs complex accounting work to include recording, examining, and analyzing of financial records, documents, or reports. Classifies, codes, posts, and balances financial and accounting documents and records. Serves as a resource in solving accounting or financial problems. Assists in making recommendations for improvements, adaptations, or revisions to the accounting system, policies, and procedures. Identifies financial discrepancies and budget shortfalls and informs management. Maintains systems and controls necessary to provide accurate accounts of expenditures and budget balances.
  • Financial Review and Reporting - Prepares periodic analysis of fund balances and expenditures, and prepares technical reports on payroll, estimates, cost data, and budget items. Prepares financial statements, reports, schedules, and exhibits. Monitors accounts. Identifies financial discrepancies and budget shortfalls and informs management. Audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and completeness. Performs other duties as assigned.
