Job Description


The Financial Accountant III is responsible for reconciliations between FAMIS banks and Wells Fargo banks. Monitors payments made by Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards and associated functions within the Agency. Serve as point of contact for continuing education transactions and associated questions. Support the Financial Manager with other duties as needed.


  • Responsible for banking relations and maintaining appropriate access and signatories. Back up to Automated Clearing House (ACH), positive pay, fraud filter.
  • Point of contact for wire transfer payments and associated questions.
  • Responsible for reconciliations between FAMIS banks and Wells Fargo banks via TRecs.
  • Various General Ledger (GL) account reconciliations in TRecs.
  • Monthly Teacher Retirement System (TRS) Payment submission.
  • IRS payment submission (monthly, supplemental, and biweekly payrolls, international withholding).
  • Quarterly Unemployment Compensation Insurance (UCI) payment submission.
  • Data entry in FAMIS.
  • Payroll accounting inquiries/activities.
  • Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) Security Coordinator Back-up.
  • IPayment processing, access, and shared email oversight.
  • Monitors payments made by Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards and associated functions within the Agency. Addresses posting issues as needed between FAMIS and payment gateways. Credit Card Merchant account management.
  • State Reporting and Appropriation Management Back-up through USAS.
  • Unclaimed Property maintenance and remittance.
  • Prepare monthly Qatar National Research Foundation (QNRF) Interest Reports and remit payment annually.
  • Serve as point of contact for continuing education transactions and associated questions.
  • Back-up to accounts receivable.
  • Research problems and discrepancies.
  • Higher level accounting analysis.
  • Support to Financial Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

What is helpful:

  • Experience with TRecs and USAS.
