Financial Services is one of three divisions that is organized within the Business Operations group at TTI.  The Financial Services division provides business and accounting services in support of TTI's Sponsored Research Program.  Financial Services staff work with TTI departments to ensure that all business activities are performed in compliance with Federal, State, Texas A&M University System, and Agency rules and procedures.

Job Summary:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the administration of the agency’s Concur eTravel program and auditing of travel expense reports, purchase vouchers, and purchase requisitions.  Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.  

Essential Duties:

  • MANAGEMENT OF THE AGENCY’S ELECTRONIC TRAVEL RESERVATION AND EXPENSE SYSTEM (CONCUR): Serve as the agency’s primary administrator of the system. Develop training materials and train TTI staff on the use of the system. Present to TTI staff during agency-wide annual travel workshop. Provide technical expertise to travelers and departmental staff on the system and help resolves issues. Perform monthly reconciliation of travel card clearing account. 24%

  • AUDIT EXPENSE REPORTS, VOUCHERS, AND PURCHASE REQUISITIONS: Audit travel expense reports, purchase vouchers, and purchase requisitions for compliance with Federal, State, System, Agency, Texas A&M Sponsored Research Services and/or sponsor rules and guidelines. Audit for proper documentation and accuracy of accounts. Compare purchase vouchers being processed for payment to issued purchase orders. Provide backup support to other Financial Services auditors for the auditing of purchase vouchers, travel expense reports, and purchase requisitions. 70%

  • TRAVEL CARD PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION: Perform travel card administrator duties for the agency. Receive card applications from travelers. Submit applications to the card issuing company and resolve card issues with the company. 5%

  • OTHER: Serve as backup to the agency’s Payment Card Program Administrator in the daily operations of the payment card program. Perform other duties as assigned. 1%

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (HS diploma + 4 YOE)

  • Two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with consistent, close attention to details. Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations.

  • Strong customer service orientation (requirement includes promptness and dependability). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to develop guidelines and training materials. Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to make presentations and train personnel in both group and one-on-one settings in a professional manner. Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see tasks through to completion. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Business Administration or closely related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • 4 years related work experience, accounting experience in a fiscal office.

  • 5 years related work experience with administering a travel expense program

  • Concur eTravel experience.

  • Expenditure (travel and/or purchase) audit experience with TAMUS member.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform common office functions.

  • Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

  • Occasional travel throughout the State of Texas (approx. 10 days per year)
