Position Summary

If working collaboratively on creative and complex financial reporting, analyzing data and serving as a key lead for finance, accounting and operations activities intrigues you, join us as the Finance Reporting Analyst within our UCLA Advancement Services team.  As a partner to our Director, Finance Operations and valued member of our Finance and Business Services team, you will investigate, communicate and serve as integral staff resource for the financial activities and transactions, data/data analysis, budget support and overall operations of our unit. Your financial acumen, analytical abilities, strong organizational skills and keen attention to details will be highly instrumental to our work.  This is a great opportunity to also work with our central financial department, External Affairs business manages and other UCLA constituents to enhance our financial processes, maximize these partnerships and provide tailored guidance and hands-on training. Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of experience. Analyzing, reviewing, managing and tracking information and/or transactions in a business or operations related environment. (Required)
  • Prior experience delivering high level of customer service and interacting with others in a friendly, professional manner; ability to maintain composure and reply promptly and efficiently to requests. (Required)
  • Strong analytical skills sufficient to thoroughly and accurately review, evaluate, and perform a wide variety of accounting and other financial related transactions. (Required)
  • Creative and resourceful with ability to define situations and problems/objectives, identify relevant factors, formulate logical conclusions, recognize alternatives and take necessary corrective action. (Required)
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; highly detailed-oriented with demonstrated skill in organizing work, setting priorities, exhibiting flexibility and following through on numerous assignments with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. (Required)
  • Strong writing skills to quickly, sufficiently and accurately compose routine business correspondence and procedures with knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar; able to proofread and edit materials for clarity and syntax. (Required)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to collect and relay information clearly; resourceful with ability to know how and where to gather information within an organization.  (Required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, campus departments, and vendors. (Required)
  • High-level working knowledge of generally accepted business practices, procedures, and systems. (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Access is a plus; ability to create new report formals and learn new applications in a prompt and efficient manner. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of University fiscal-year closing procedures and deadlines is preferred as is working knowledge of University policies, procedures, and forms with regard to A/P, General Ledger Reconciliation, and Purchasing. (Preferred)
  • Understanding of EA's internal controls, UCLA guidelines, and FBS best practices is preferred. (Preferred)
