The Opportunity


The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Finance/Budget Analyst II position. 

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Administration and Finance, the Finance/Budget Analyst II will process financial transactions within university financial systems. This position will also prepare statements and reports relating to an assigned area of responsibility and apply university accounting policies and procedures. The Analyst is tasked with assembling, analyzing, reconciling data and transactions, and making necessary adjustments with proper internal controls. They will also monitor departmental accounts and student supply fees for compliance with applicable regulations.



Responsibilities:  


The responsibilities will include:

  • Create and produce timely monthly financial operating and budget variance reports.

  • Provide routine financial analysis and on an ad hoc basis to management.

  • Collaborate on budget planning with the budgeting team. 

  • Approve, deny, or return Workday spend and HR transactions.

  • Review, reconcile, and validate Workday Worktags; initiate Worktag changes as needed.

  • Prepare costing allocations for payroll funding and corrections to payroll funding.

  • Coordinate the budgeting and payroll allocations for graduate assistantships for BSBS including tuition waiver allocations/payments. 

  • Monitor and distribute reports on student supply and equipment fee accounts. 

  • Make recommendations to adjust revenues and expenses as needed to be in compliance.

  • Work closely with other members of the business center to disseminate accounting information and ensure compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned to accomplish the overall mission of the school to include but not limited to the timely completion of university and college trainings and updates.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information   


 


Preferred Qualifications


  • Related Bachelor's degree.

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies as well as the ability to explain facts, processes, procedures, and financial concepts to others. 

  • Ability to use computer systems to support, configure, run reports, enter data, or process information. 

  • Ability to prepare annual reports, evaluate budget proposals, and analyze data to determine the costs and benefits of various programs.
