Field Research Assistant
Ecology & Evolutionary Biology
Location:  Sacramento, CA
Summary

The incumbent will assist with ecology field work in grassland sites throughout California. Duties include assessing vegetation, doing environmental measurements, and collecting plant and soil samples.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day, carry equipment, and kneel for long hours.

  • Works well both independently and with others as a member of a research team.

 


Required Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Experience with ecology field work

 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to identify plants

  • Knowledge of soil sampling techniques

 


Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 21.
