SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends required initial Field Liaison training(s) and scheduled meetings each semester and completes university-mandated trainings.
  • Provides the first intervention(s) if a problem arises at the field placement, with the goals of resolving conflict, maintaining the student's placement, and monitoring to prevent recurrence.

  • Arrange office hours to accommodate individual student meetings as needed or requested.
  • Communicate with the Director and Assistant Directors of Field Education if a problematic placement cannot be resolved through early interventions.
  • Makes recommendations for continued use of agencies and Field Instructors. Assists with identifying new field placement sites and facilitates partnerships with the School of Social Welfare.
  • Provides input on a final grade for students to the Director of Field Education based upon seminar assignments, performance in the field placement, field evaluations, discussions with students and Field Instructor, and the overall manner in which a student has met responsibilities.
