NextGen Precision Health

Job Description

The Lin Brain Lab at the University of Missouri (MU) focuses on developing pharmacological and nutritional interventions to prevent or mitigate Alzheimer's disease (AD), particularly in individuals genetically predisposed to the condition. Our research also delves into the microbiome's role in brain function during aging and AD, encompassing animal studies and clinical applications to bring laboratory discoveries directly to patient care. Our research harnesses a broad spectrum of advanced technologies. We employ cutting-edge magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) to assess brain structure, blood flow, and metabolism. Additionally, we apply shotgun metagenomics sequencing, metabolomics, and artificial intelligence to explore the gut-brain axis.
We seek a postdoctoral candidate with expertise in clinical practice or research, coupled with a robust computational skillset. The position is based in the innovative NextGen Precision Health Building, equipped with PET/CT, 3T MRI, and 7T MRI facilities. MU is bolstered by comprehensive support from the Department of Radiology, Institute for Data Science & Informatics (IDSI), Clinical & Translational Research Unit (CTSU), a dedicated research coordination team, and both the Metagenomics and Metabolomics Centers. The selected candidate will benefit from abundant interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities with faculty, clinicians, researchers, and trainees across various departments.
