Farm to Community Program Specialist - Harvest Against Hunger

Description:

Primary tasks include:

● Monitor and support data collection and entry from F2C program partners and participating agencies

● Track, maintain, and record eligibility requirements for subcontractors

● Develop tools to track program activities and impacts

● Coordinate and compile program reporting for various audiences as needed

Position responsibilities:

Evaluation and Reporting (35%)

1. Collects and gathers data and stories from the F2C partners cohort to highlight the program to funders and constituents via required federal reporting, media releases, and online communication outlets;

2. Maintains record-keeping systems for the program;

3. Corrects and completes computerized data relating to the program;

4. Contributes to and assembles program-related reports;

5. Analyzes program data and recommends changes to ensure continuous improvement;

6. Assists in the preparation of written materials for printing and electronic distribution (e.g., social media announcements, website, flyers, newsletters, press releases);

Data and Contract Management (25%)

1. Support and track F2C program grants from WSDA, King County, PCC, USDA, and other funding partners, including assisting the F2C Program Manager in developing program budgets and budget amendments;

2. Assists in processing payments, reimbursements, and financial reports;

3. Develops monthly, quarterly or other reimbursement reports as needed.

Farm to Community Site Support (20%)

1. Support competitive grant processes;

2. Provides technical assistance for developing strong farm to community projects;

3. Participant in site visits to farms and participating sites throughout year;

4. Support monthly online cohort reporting sessions.

Resource Development (10%)

1. Supports program training and evaluation opportunities such as Grower Roundtables, annual program kickoff meetings, conferences for F2C.

2. Assists in the development courses, curriculum, and training modules for use with F2C lead agencies, farms, supervisors, and other constituents;

Other (10%)

1. Contributes to other areas within Harvest Against Hunger, including assisting with events and program assistance as assigned;

2. Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Eligibility:

Required Knowledge/Skills

• Data management, including Google Sheets/Excel, Google Forms and/or other surveying and data management software;

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational and communication skills;

• Excellent ability to follow up and follow through on tasks;

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team;

• Valid WA Driver’s License;

• Fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

Desired Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge and/or experience with service-learning, hunger-relief programs and agricultural development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required with 1-3 years of related experience preferred. Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement
