The University of Cincinnati Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Nutrition Sciences is searching for a full-time tenure track faculty member who will contribute to the department’s research, teaching, and service missions. The ideal applicant will be pursuing a scholarly agenda in neurologic rehabilitation, have college teaching experience and demonstrate evidence of professional service.  Rank and faculty track commensurate with credentials and experience.  Salary and start-up support are negotiable.


Position Responsibilities : The tenure track faculty member is responsible for advancing a personal research agenda and teaching in relevant content areas.  Research activity will include pursuit of funding, student mentorship, and dissemination of research findings. Teaching responsibility will include course development, primary instruction of didactic courses using traditional classroom and/or online delivery modalities; participation in student recruitment, retention, and admissions activities; participation in program committee work including program evaluation, accreditation tasks, and other activities as assigned by the Department Head.  While research and student instruction are central to this position, service activity consistent with the missions and faculty evaluative criteria of the University, College, and Department is also required.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Non-entry level doctorate degree
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the college level or equivalent
  • Evidence of a defined area of research interest as indicated by professional presentations, publications, or similar accomplishments within the past 2 years
  • Clinical expertise in neurologic rehabilitation 
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team


Preferred Qualifications :

  • PhD in relevant field
  • Current extramural funding
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications in neurologic rehabilitation
  • ABPTS Board Certified Specialist in Neurology
