Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

The successful candidate will develop/maintain an active research program in education resulting in peer-reviewed publications, and when applicable, pursue grant funding.  We are interested in an early childhood generalist who can develop and teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses. The candidate should have the theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and passion for innovation in early childhood. Additionally, the successful candidate will recruit and advise undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students; actively participate in program, school, college and university committees; develop/maintain partnerships with local school districts; and provide leadership for local, state, national, and international education organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in early childhood education (ABD candidates will be considered), minimum three years teaching experience at the early childhood level (PreK-grade 5); demonstrated potential for success in college teaching and contributing to academic program development at the undergraduate and graduate levels; demonstrated potential for research productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations; demonstrated ability to work in partnerships with schools; and work collaboratively with colleagues; and have ability/interest in teaching online and using technology in the classroom.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
