McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston , a leading academic health center, invites applications for Division Chief of the Pediatric Research Center at the Associate or Professor tenure track level position .  Qualified applicants should have evidence of strong leadership skills and an active research program focused on the study of any of a range of birth defects/disabilities and developmental disorders, including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, kidney and cardiovascular malformations, and disorders resulting from abnormal cartilage and bone growth.

Towards alleviating these burdens, our researchers use state-of-the-art technologies to identify the underlying abnormal genetic mechanisms and cellular pathologies that contribute to these conditions.  The long-term goal of the Pediatric Research Center investigators is to uncover the cause(s) of birth defects to develop both prevention strategies and treatments to cure sick children since not all birth defects can be prevented.

The Texas Medical Center offers rich resources and opportunities for collaboration with a wide range of scientists and clinicians.  The Pediatric Research Center is a primary member organization of the Lawrence Bone Disease Program of Texas and the Center for Craniofacial Research in association with the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry and has many exciting collaborations with investigators across the TMC.
