Engineering and Computer Science

The Cedarville University School of Engineering and Computer Science seeks faculty applicants in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities will include teaching and developing undergraduate mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering courses and associated laboratories, advising students, and working with student design teams. We seek candidates with expertise in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermal sciences, propulsion, and flight dynamics.

Qualifications for this faculty position include a doctorate in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering and a proven record of teaching. Computational software, such as Matlab and Fluent, are currently used to support the courses mentioned above.  The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, propulsion, and compressible fluid flow.

The School of Engineering and Computer Science is housed in a modern facility with extensive state-of-the-art laboratories. We offer ABET-accredited programs in Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a program in Cyber Operations. The CS program is accredited by ABET in both Computer Science and Cybersecurity.  Cedarville’s Cyber Program is designated as an NSA Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Operations, one of approximately twenty-four universities in the nation with this designation. The program is also designated a CAE in Cyber Defense.

This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials along with other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. Position Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related sub-field
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Documented successful teaching experience
• Committed to biblical integration in and out of the classroom
• Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian
• Qualified applicant must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant, and General Workplace Standards.
